1. From Case#1, Mystery #2: When is a plant an Annual?
Dear Jerrica: The people who design Web sites make it easy for you to download stuff. Mostly, they have a separate page where you just click on a link and a copy of a game, plug-in or file will be sent to your computer. If it's a game or a plug-in that has to be compatible with your computer, look for the proper link and take the time to read how to install it before you click. Most download sites are safe from viruses, but you have to be the judge. It's smart to run a virus-scanning software application every once in a while, and to back up the data on your hard drive often.
Dear Amy: I am making my own homepage. Are there any sites on the World Wide Web that help you design your own Web page?-Kitty, Mount Sterling, KY
Dear Kitty: I found a Web site at www.geocities.com/ SiliconValley/ Heights/ 1288/ index2.html with lots of ideas and help. If you're just starting, you can learn basic HTML, but you can also get some opinions on how to design your homepage. Like, do you REALLY want the type to blink on and off? :-( Yuck! You may want some sounds or use some Java. Send me your URL when it's running; I would love to see it. (This site is no longer available.)
