Begin with a presidential slideshow and read the biographies under their images. Although you learn about presidents in history class, there are facts about their lives that may not appear in your textbooks. For instance, which president was in office for only one month? Which president served two non-consecutive terms? Learn more about presidential family life in the links to the biographies of their spouses.

Yosemite Falls is 2,425 feet high, making it the fifth-highest waterfall in the world. Watch the 10-minute podcast where park rangers share their knowledge about the falls. Have you ever thought about how differently water moves in streams, ponds or lakes? Watch how water comes to life when it flows like a free-falling river. In mid- to late February each year, Horsetail Fall appears to be on fire as it reflects the colors of the sunset. Examine photographs of people who may look familiar from history books, magazines or movies. You’ll find a range of personalities in The Birth of Cool, including actors, musicians and singers. Did they have anything in common? Meet Joan Didion in Cool and the Counterculture. Her writing captured American life from the 1960s. Read about these people and make your own list of people whose qualities you admire.
