Cool Spots imageSwim in shark-infested waters at www.sdnhm.org/kids/sharks. The San Diego Natural History Museum's Shark School site is the place to go to learn about sharks. What you learn can help you in the fun Fish and Games section. Dive down deep to see these scary creatures in their underwater habitat. Don't worry about getting too close. Only about 3% of sharks are considered dangerous to people.

Pandamania Issue Date: 02-18-2001

Cool Spots imageThere's a new panda in town -- actually two of them. Welcome Mei Xiang and Tian Tian at the Giant Pandas at the Smithsonian National Zoo Web site at http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/GiantPandas. The site features tons of great pictures of the cute black-and-white bears, as well as a live Pandacam. Follow the links about panda research, and examine the map of the pandas' cool habitat. Then take a look at the history of pandas at the National Zoo. Learn about the first pandas traded with China, Ling-Ling and Hsing-Hsing. For younger kids, there are coloring pages and puzzles. Finally, check out the All About Pandas and Frequently Asked Panda Questions links. Enjoy your visit with these fascinating bears.
