The People's Portrait

where a top-secret lab needs your help. Jo, the curator at the Yorkshire Museum, has a special challenge for you. View the museum's collection of minibeasts, or invertebrates, and combine their different parts to create a superior species. Choose a head, body and limbs for your creation, and then add on two superpowers to keep your bug on top of the food chain. Later you can release your bug into the wild and see how well it survives. Sometimes flashy colors are meant to highlight riches, while dark and light shades play off each other to please the eye. In Line Drawing, you can print and color famous works. But keep your eyes peeled for hidden meanings and secret symbols.

	Every Day is Earth Day Earth Day isn't until April 22, but there's no reason we can't celebrate today! Making simple changes to our everyday habits can help make our planet a better place. For example, you can save water by not running the faucet while you brush your teeth, and only turn it on when you need to rinse. You can also take shorter showers to help conserve water. Now that it's springtime, the weather is perfect for taking a walk. If you live close to your school, you can walk or bike to school instead of having someone drive. Not only will this help the Earth, but it will also keep you physically fit! If you live too far from school to walk, try carpooling. Another simple change is to start recycling whenever possible. Aluminum cans, paper, plastic and glass bottles, and even more materials can be recycled. Visit a local recycling center to see which materials it accepts.
