4Kids History

A lot of people wonder how I got started working at 4Kids. Well, when I was in sixth grade, I used to hang around almost every day after school and work in the computer lab with my friends and teachers, trying to figure out how to do different things. Before long my classmates and even some teachers were coming to me and asking for help when they had a computer problem.

Meanwhile South Central R*TEC was making the www.4Kids.org page. Jerry, the boss at SCR*TEC, had heard about how my classmates and I were learning more about computers, and thought it sounded like a really good thing to have going on in the classroom. He wanted to do a computer help column on the www.4Kids.org page and chose to name it "Ask Amy." About a year later I met Jerry and he offered me the job of answering the "Ask Amy" questions.

Now www.4Kids.org is also running in around 100 newspapers in this country and even in Tokyo. People can snail mail or e-mail me questions about computers and each week I'll pick one or two to print in www.4Kids.org. You can send one too--just fill out this online form.
