Below is an example of the size of a 4Kids feature. This story was published in the 08-13-06 and demonstrates the main components of each story, including the title of the story, 4 - 5 sentences about the site, a relevant image copied from the Web site, and a Kid Quest question related to content on the featured Web site.

4Kids Writing Techniques

Think Fun!
What is a kid going to read? Make sure you text is full of exciting adjectives drawing your reader to the site.

Think Concise!
You only have four or five sentences to get your point across. Make sure you highlight the interesting parts of the site and do not worry if you cannot cover everything featured in your site of choice.

Think Simple!
Remember who your readers are and try to write to them. Stay away from complicated text and vocabulary that kids will not understand.

Think Positive!
Try to stay away from using negative contractions. You want to keep a positive spin.

Change it up!
Keep the writing interesting. Vary your sentence introductions to keep the reader interested.

Close it up!
Think of a clever way to close off your paragraph. End on a high note.
